WRC Board Election Results
June 8, 2023
Dear Colleagues,
We write to report the results of the WRC biennial board election process and special election process. There was one nominee for each of the seats up for election. By rule, the nominees are therefore elected by acclamation.
The A Category Seat will be held by Craig Westemeier of the University of Texas at Austin, who was re-elected to the seat.
The B Category Seat will be held by Kyle Muncy of the University of Connecticut, who was re-elected to the seat.
The C Category Seat will be held by Michael Ferrari of Northeastern University, who was re-elected to the seat.
The open A/B Category Seat will be held by Sam Harasen, Associate Director of Trademarks & Licensing at the University of Washington. Sam joined the UW in 1999 and has worked for over a decade strategically managing and protecting its licensed properties while increasing brand affinity and generating revenue to support the institution’s work. She also serves on the UW Advisory Committee on Trademarks & Licensing, a faculty/staff/student committee that advises UW’s president on ways to achieve its institutional goal of ensuring the humane and ethical treatment of workers who produce UW-licensed products.
We are very pleased to welcome Sam Harasen to the board and look forward to working with her in this new role. We also look forward to continuing to work with Craig, Kyle, and Michael over the next two years.
Best,
Scott Nova and Jessica Champagne
