New Materials from the WRC

letterhead

April 23, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

We had a great day of presentations and discussions at the WRC Annual Meeting yesterday.

The presentation materials from the meeting, redacted to remove confidential information and information that could create security risks, are now available online as well. We would also like to share with you videos that were presented during the meeting. One worker from Stretchline shared the impact of receiving the terminal compensation she was owed, and almost denied, when the factory closed and notified the workers they would not receive their legally due wages. Only after the WRC intervened did the Honduran factory agree to pay workers their compensation in full. Similarly, workers at Base Textiles in Bangladesh were nearly robbed of their severance pay when the factory closed. After the WRC engaged with the collegiate licensee, workers were made whole.

We value your university’s affiliation to the WRC. We hope you can join us next year at the Annual Meeting and are always available throughout the year to answer any questions you have about protecting workers’ rights and enforcing university codes of conduct.

As always, please let us know if you have questions.

Best,

Scott Nova and Jessica Champagne
