Two Videos to Learn More about the XUAR Labor Rights Crisis
September 17, 2020
Dear Colleagues,
On Tuesday, the WRC hosted a webinar on Uyghur forced labor and the WRC’s new guidance to university licensees. The recording for this webinar is now available to WRC university affiliates. In the webinar, WRC staff and guest speakers provided updates on the human rights crisis in the Uyghur Region, and the WRC reviewed the steps licensees must take to ensure university logos are not being placed on goods made with forced labor.
Please also note that today at noon (EDT) I will be providing testimony before the U.S. House of Representatives on forced labor in the Uyghur Region and the implications for the global apparel industry. You can tune in live online to view the hearing. A recording of the hearing will be publicly available for later viewing on the website of the House Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Trade.
As always, please let us know if you have any thoughts or questions.
Best,
Scott
