Re: | University Caucus Election Results |
The special election process for the open University Caucus seat on the WRC Board of Directors is now concluded. I am pleased to announce that Scott Fleming, Associate Vice President for Federal Relations at Georgetown University, has been elected to the Board. Scott will hold the B/C Category seat (this seat is open to representatives of institutions with licensing revenues below $100,000 and institutions with revenues between $100,000 and $1 million). After a distingushed career in public service, Scott was appointed to his current position at Georgetown in 2001 and has served as a member of the Georgetown University Licensing Oversight Committee for many years, through which he worked to more effectively implement Georgetown’s labor standards and policies and gained knowledge and experience in addressing overseas labor issues. Scott worked closely with our friend and long-time Board Member, the late LaMarr Billups. We look forward to working with him in his new role.
Scott was the sole nominee for the open seat and was therefore elected by acclamation under the University Caucus election procedures. His term will run through June 30, 2012, at which point a new election will be held for the term running from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2014.
